Camel Fair Pushkar
Camels rest and drink November 20, 1999 at the annual Camel Fair held every November in Pushkar, a town in Rajasthan, India. This is the largest camel fair in the world, where tribal villagers meet and trade 25,000 camels, buy trade goods and take a dip in the holy Hindu Pushkar Lake. The sleepy town of pushkar comes alive with a riot of colour and joyous activities such as camel racing and tug of war. (Photo by Michel Porro/Newsmakers)
